Questions people ask
How do I calculate hours worked?
Subtract the start time from the end time, then take off unpaid breaks. 9:00 to 17:30 with a 30-minute break is 8 hours.
What if the shift goes past midnight?
Enter the times as they are; when the end time is earlier than the start, the calculator counts it as the next day. 22:00 to 06:15 is 8 hours 15 minutes.
What are decimal hours?
Hours written as a decimal for payroll: 8 hours 15 minutes is 8.25 hours, because 15 minutes is a quarter of an hour.
